Open Mat And Competition Prep
Extra mat time for students who want more rounds, more reps, and stronger preparation for competition.
Target Demographic
Students who want extra live work, sharper timing, and a place to pressure-test their game.
Ideal Training Rhythm
Best if you want more mat time, are getting ready to compete, or want a less formal way to keep learning through live rounds.
Mat Objectives
Live rounds, situational work, competition prep, submission-only overtime rounds, and room to ask questions between rounds.
Best for students who want extra rounds around their normal weekly classes or need focused competition prep.
WHY CHOOSE THIS PATH
Get extra rounds outside the regular class structure.
Train with competitors, serious hobbyists, and newer students who want more live experience.
Use open mat to build confidence, sharpen pace, and work through real training problems.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect more live movement, more problem-solving, and a room that can meet both experienced competitors and newer students where they are.
Check the schedule for open mat times and reach out if you want help deciding whether it fits your current level.
OVERTIME: SUBMISSION OR ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS
Matches going into overtime must be won cleanly by submission. In the event of a failure to secure a tap before overtime expires, the match is decided immediately by Rock-Paper-Scissors. Zero stalling, zero judge subjectivity, and instant decisive outcomes.
